Before the Net Fills: A Better Fishing Loop

In The Big One, a catch does not end when the fish reaches your hands. The smoother loop is to watch the Net, sell at the Fish Merchant, return to the Shop and Equipment screens, then head back out with a clear next goal.
The game is a casual fishing RPG built around casting, waiting, hooking, and reeling, with 150+ fish species, 10 fishing locations, and Fishpedia collection. Learning when to empty the Net makes that whole loop feel cleaner from the start.
Seeing the Net Loop on Screen

The Shop and Equipment check is the short reset between selling fish and heading back out.
Choosing a Net Is Choosing Session Length

A small Net sends you back often. A larger Net lets you stay at the same fishing spot longer.
Split One Trip Into Four Decisions
| Moment | What to check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Catch | After reeling, confirm what went into the Net. | Decide whether to stay at the spot or return to town. |
| Empty | When the Net is full, go to the Fish Merchant. | Use the gold from selling fish to prepare for the next run. |
| Prepare | Refill Bait in the Shop and review Equipment. | Upgrade the Rod, Bait, or Net that is currently limiting you. |
| Record | When you discover a new species, check Fishpedia. | Pick your next fishing spot or target fish. |
Early On, Routine Beats Big Numbers
At the start, do not chase the biggest setup first. Build the habit: check the Net, sell fish, refill Bait, then fish again. If the Net fills too often, consider a Net upgrade. If bites feel slow, review Bait. If reeling feels difficult, check your Rod. When a new species appears, open Fishpedia and choose the next target from there.
