Turning Catches into Camp Cooking in The Big One

Fishing in The Big One does not end with casting, waiting, hooking, and reeling. Your catch stays in the net, and the camp cooking loop begins when you decide what to do with it.
Camp cooking is a light follow-up loop rather than a hard requirement. Read the fish, cooking method, materials, and recipe clues in order, and your next fishing target becomes easier to choose.

Four checks before cooking
You do not need internal item names. The player-facing labels on the screen are enough.
| Choose Fish | Pick a fish from your net, and keep locked fish protected from accidental cooking. |
|---|---|
| Choose Cooking Method | Changing the method, such as pan grill, pot, skewer, or fresh prep, can change the result. (Pan Grill / Pot Cooking / Skewer Grill / Fresh Prep) |
| Choose Ingredients | Salt, herbs, butter, rice, citrus, and chili spice are the first clues for reading a dish direction. (Sea Salt · Fresh Herbs · Camp Butter · Steamed Rice · Citrus · Chili Spice) |
| Cooking Complete | A completed dish connects recipes, the cooking dex, and the dish bag for your next choice. (Recipes · Cooking Dex · Dish Bag) |
Read materials and results in small groups
At first, it is easier to learn the flavor direction of a few materials than to memorize every recipe.

How it fits into a fishing session
- When a new fish enters the net, check whether you want to keep it locked.
- At the camp cook, change the method and materials to preview the result.
- A first-time dish gives you another reason to check recipes and the cooking dex.
- When the dish bag fills up, eat or sell dishes to make room for the next run.
